Good news! The heavy rain last week has resulted in a significant reduction in the drought conditions across the state. For example, the area in a severe drought dropped from 14.19% down to 0%, and the area in a moderate drought dropped from 53.07% dropped to just 17.74%. With that said, there are portions of the state that do remain in a level 1 and level 2 drought, and more rain is needed to completely eliminate the drought. However this certainly is a great start and major improvement!
