Thursday Updated SEC Tournament Bracket, Schedule and Open Thread

Here’s your recap of Sad Wednesday:

• The hot Sooners continued their winning ways, defensively outhustling the Bulldogs, while doing just enough from the perimeter to advance.
• Arkansas traded a lot of punches with South Carolina and outlasted USCe in the day’s dumbest game.
• Mississippi State euthanized the pitiful LSU Tigers’ season, and probably sent the Coonasses coach shopping.
• The one upset (at least to us) was the day’s best game, as Vandy and Texas were evenly matched for most of the contest. But in the end, the Horns were able to keep their NCAA tourney hopes alive in a hostile Bridgestone Arena, and cool down Terry’s hot seat a tad.

Here are today’s matchups:

• Another rock fight, this time between Crooked Cal’s surging Pay Piggies, and the Wife Beater’s reeling Unreconstructed Biggest Fish in the Smallest of Ponds.
• A hella’ spicy Texas-Texas A&M hatefest. One team can’t play offense, one team can’t play defense, and both fanbases deserve one another. SIDE CONTENT: The two biggest ball hogs in the SEC square off as well, as Wade Taylor and Tre Johnson are easily going to have 30+ shot attempts between them. Wanna’ bet on it?
• The Mid-off between Mizzou, losers of the last 80% of their contests; Mississippi State, also losers of the last 80% of their regular season contests. We covered this already though. Not all 1-4 finishes are created equal — Clanga is playing much better down the stretch.
• Low-key best game of the day: Sooners and Wildcats. OU just lost a previous meeting by a lone point in Norman two weeks ago. Could be a barn-burner (though not a Barn-burner; that will have to wait until Johni Broome’s mons venus starts aching when he doesn’t get whistles and a team bodies up those guards).
