Alabama rolled into the Moody center and flat out destroyed the Longhorns tonight.
Outside of the usual turnover issues that kept Texas closer than they should have been, Alabama had a pretty stellar first half. The Tide dominated the glass and points in the paint, and for good measure shot 64% from three. The interior defense was especially strong. Add it all up, and Alabama led 49-31 at the half. Labaron Philon led the scoring with ten, with Jarin Stevenson and Aden Holloway adding nine apiece.
Nate Oats must have reminded his team about the Arkansas comeback last time out, as the Tide kept playing with urgency after the break. Texas had absolutely no answer for the Alabama offense, and the margin of victory was 23 in the end. Stevenson finished with 22 points on 7/8 shooting and the Tide shot 58% from three for the game.
Winning on the road in the SEC is supposed to be hard, but Nate Oats’ squad wasn’t going to be stopped tonight. Let’s hope they can keep the torrid shooting up on Saturday.
Roll Tide.
