Reeves Peach Farm

Nestled just east of I‑65 in Hartselle, Reeves Peach Farm is a must-visit summer stop for ice cream lovers. Beyond their juicy, tree-ripened peaches, they dish up rich, homemade ice cream in irresistible flavors, like the crowd-favorite peach pecan and seasonal delights such as blueberry served straight from the farm’s kitchen and dining room.

This family-run farm isn’t just about sweet treats. They’re passionate about local flavor, offering produce, baked goods, jams, jellies, salsas, pickles…and yes, even heart-warming dinners.

Whether you’re craving classic peach pecan or ready to try something seasonal, Reeves Peach Farm’s homemade ice cream brings the taste of North Alabama sunshine in every bite. 

Seven Daughters Scoops

Located on 1600 2nd Ave NW in Cullman, Seven Daughters Scoops brings a warm, whimsical charm to every visit. This cute local ice cream shop features a cozy indoor space and a beautiful outdoor patio complete with games like cornhole, making it a perfect stop for families and friends.

They carry premium hard-scoop ice cream from The Chocolate Shoppe (based in Madison, WI), celebrated for its rich, award-winning flavors. Classic favorites like vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan, and mint avalanche are always available. Each Tuesday they introduce fun, rotating selections like lemon poppyseed, cookie dough, peach, and coconut almond bliss, plus sugar-free and non-dairy options. 

The staff is known for friendly, fast service, even during long weekend lines, and they love giving back—offering complimentary scoops when closed unexpectedly.

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang and Chocolate Bubble Gum—unique local favorites 

Sea Turtle: a new hit with caramel, chocolate turtles, and sea salt 

Tess’ Place

Locally owned, Tess’ Place features bowls, sugar cones, waffle cones of ice cream, ice cream floats, shaved ice, and gourmet sodas. Ice cream flavors range from the usual to unofficial local favorites like Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle. Shaved ice can be ordered with a flat top, round top, or a snow cap with flavors ranging from cake batter to dill pickle to key lime pie to tiger blood. Open Tuesday-Saturday 12–9 pm, Sunday 1-6 pm.

Dismals Canyon 

You might know Dismals Canyon in Phil Campbell as one of North Alabama’s most magical outdoor adventures—home to rare glowworms (called Dismalites), hidden waterfalls, and ancient rock formations. But after a day of hiking and exploring the lush, otherworldly canyon, there’s an even sweeter reward waiting for you: old-fashioned ice cream!

Stop by the country-style soda fountain inside the Dismals Canyon welcome center, where they serve up hand-dipped ice cream and other nostalgic treats.
