Noodle and Beer opened its second site at 27 Wardour Street, Chinatown, W1 on Thursday 13th March. Following on from the success of their first site on Bell Lane in Spitalfields, Noodle and Beer is excited to be bringing their love of Sichuan spice to Chinatown.

Founded by Xiaoxiao Wang, Noodle and Beer is inspired by his upbringing in the Sichuan Province, famous for its rich seasonings which create a riot of spicy flavour that has made Sichuan cuisine globally renowned.
At Noodle and Beer, a succinct Halal menu offers a selection of Small Eats and Rice which includes the likes of MOUTH WATERING CHICKEN (Sichuan chicken salad in red chilli oil and peanut) and CHOO-SHOU (Sichuan dumplings w/minced chicken and lotus root filling). The second section of the menu is devoted to Noodles with a trio of noodle offerings available; Dry Noodles, Rice Noodles with Soup, and Noodles with Soup. Noodle and Beer isn’t afraid to pack a punch with their ‘chilli-ometer’ ranging from one to five chillies per dish. The star of their Noodles with Soup dishes – NIU-ROU MIAN (Wheat noodles, Braised premium beef, Chinese herbs, cabbage and coriander) turns up the heat with a three chilli rating while their signature Dry Noodle dish of XIAN JIAO NIU-ROU (wheat noodles, red pepper, beef, peanuts, spring onions and pickled greens) is not the faint-hearted coming in with a five chilli rating – this place is hot!
And it’s not just the food that’s spicy. Set across two floors, Noodle and Beer blends a bold design with timeless appeal. Upstairs is a bright and convivial space where a dazzling mosaic floor leads to a selection of beechwood tables and chairs, all punctuated with chilli red accents. A blend of darker wood high stool seating fringes a chef’s counter at the back of the restaurant, which is ideal for a lively catch up with your guest, whilst watching the chefs at work.

Downstairs has a more decadent feel thanks to its all-red interior, but there is no danger here – just spice. Open until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s an intimate and cheeky space where hot food and drink can be enjoyed in equal measures. Choose from one of Noodle and Beer’s signature cocktails such as SOUR Lush Desir (gin, raspberry liqueur, jasmine liqueur, lime juice, Peychaud’s bitters and milk) or WHISKY HIGHBALL Velvet Heat (pu’er whiskey, pu’er cordial, coconut syrup and coconut liqueur) – guaranteed to give a kick to any evening. Alternatively, why not work your way through their curated Beer selection including Beer of the Month, all of which pair perfectly with the menu.
A flexible space. Noodle and Beer offers something for everyone. Be it a quick bowl of noodles (and a beer!) or an evening of spicy revelry which, having kicked off upstairs, can continue down below into the early hours. Capturing the heat of Sichuan via its interior, food and drink, it’s safe to say this is a hot new addition to London’s thriving dining scene – can you take the heat?
