News Alert: Reyes Adds Gallo’s Commercial Spirits, Select Wines In California
Reyes Beverage Group and Gallo are deepening their partnership in the Golden State, with Reyes set to take on Gallo’s commercial spirits portfolio and select wine brands effective September 3. Reyes was already appointed California distributor of Gallo’s High Noon brand effective at the start of this month.
Under this latest deal, Reyes will handle Gallo brands including New Amsterdam vodka, La Marca Prosecco, and Barefoot wines in California. New Amsterdam ranks third in California’s vodka market, Reyes said, while La Marca is the top sparkling wine in the state and Barefoot is the second-largest still wine. The move is part of the continuing fallout from RNDC’s decision to exit the California market.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to represent more of Gallo’s incredible spirits portfolio while also entering the wine category with an industry leading partner,” said Tom Day, CEO of Reyes Beverage Group.
The addition of high-volume Gallo brands across spirits and wine is just the latest coup for Reyes in California. In addition to High Noon, Reyes has onboarded Tito’s vodka as well as the full portfolios of Brown-Forman and William Grant & Sons in the Golden State. Other suppliers to join its California stable this year include Branca USA and Lalo Spirits.
Gallo is the largest U.S. wine player at 85 million cases nationally, according to Impact Databank, and also ranks as the third-largest spirits supplier at 37 million cases.
