Farmentry Muxum Reverse : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a dark reddish brown colour with massive plump off-white head on top that left some thin rings around the glass as the beer went down.
The initial aroma was of hops, which was surprising as it had been carbonated to be akin to a real ale. The aroma was a light floral one with some slight herby nature to it. The malts brought a dusting of caramel / toffee to proceedings, with a touch of biscuit appearing as the beer warmed up. There wasn’t any off notes to this beer, though it could have been carbonated a bit more to make the hops pop a touch more.
The body though was mostly malt after the initial hoppy bitterness had dissipated away from the palate. There was a touch of light floral note to the body that just cut through the malts but definitely, the malts were the main star of this show. The smooth body was helped by the low carbonation, making it easy drinking on the palate. It finished with a light nuttiness just lingering on a touch.
Farmentry Muxum Reverse : The Bottom Line
A nice little beer that I would want to try on tap next time I see it.
