The award-winning Melbourne-based cocktail bar, Above Board, is hosting the team from Montreal, Canada’s The Cloakroom Bar for one night only, on 10 February, for “world-class hospitality, exceptional drinks, and Above Board’s notorious ‘bad banter’”.
The evening brings together two bars that have made a name for themselves as intimate venues offering premium cocktails and an atmosphere to match.
Above Board was ranked #44 in the 2021 World’s Best Bars, and #100 last year. Its 16 pax capacity, 12 at an island bar and two coveted two-seater banquette booths, encourages guests to interact while enjoying a signature cocktail. Or two.
Last year, The Cloakroom Bar was ranked #3 in Canada’s 100 Best and #39 in North America in the World’s 50 Best Bars.
Located in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, it only seats 25 and while it doesn’t have a menu, it does have an extensive selection of rare and vintage spirits. The bar is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year.
 
The evening is presented in collaboration with Michter’s whiskey and Los Siete Misterios mezcals. Michter’s was awarded the Drinks International World’s Most Admired Whiskey for the last two years and Los Siete Misterios offers a range of mezcals made using artisanal production techniques in the name of provenance and tradition.
The event is on Saturday, 10 February, with two 1.5-hour sittings at 6pm and 8pm. Tickets are $85 and include three cocktails from the Cloakroom Bar team.
