Background
Jokun Brewing Lab located in Tokamachi, began operations in October 2020 and opened a taproom in the vicinity of Yuzawa station in December 2023. The name Jokun comes from the combination of “Jo” (brewing) from craft beer brewing and “Kumo” (smoking) from food smoking, which has been the president’s long-time hobby.
Iwata-san who, alongside being one of the founders with Higuchi-san, is the head brewer and trained at Strange Brewing Lab, which is the brewery for Bakushu Club Popeye in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
