On today’s review, we’ll be discussing a trio of whiskies from Japan’s newish Kanosuke Distillery which was founded in 2017. Here’s a bit of information about the three whiskies that we’ll be tasting:
Single Malt – “Single Malt Kanosuke” is distilled using a combination of our 3 unique pot stills and matured in re-charred American white oak ex-“Mellowed Kozuru” aged shochu casks.
Our non-chill filtered whisky is carefully blended based on this key malt before bottling.
Hioki Pot Still – “Kanosuke HIOKI POT STILL” is made at Hioki distillery by using unmalted and malted barley, mashed and fermented in a unique process, then distilled carefully in a pot still, followed by maturation in new American white oak casks and bourbon barrels at the Kanosuke distillery Warehouse.
Double Distillery Japanese Blended Whisky – “Kanosuke Double Distillery” is a Japanese whisky made at the two distilleries owned by our family in Kagoshima, on Japan’s southwest coast.
The carefully crafted recipe brings out the distinctive characteristics of each distillery.
Pot still whisky distilled at Hioki, and single malt distilled at Kanosuke. Both spirits are aged at Kanosuke.
