The Mixology Group, a leading name in drinks industry training and consultancy, has proudly announced a strategic partnership with the London School of Science and Technology (LSST) to deliver a new, partially-funded Skills Bootcamp in Hospitality & Mixology. This intensive, 6-week training programme is designed to equip the next generation of industry professionals with the advanced skills needed to transform service roles into lifelong careers.
The new Level 3 Skills Bootcamp is being offered with funding support from the Greater London Authority (GLA), making high-quality, industry-led education accessible to those currently working in the sector who wish to progress into supervisory or specialist bar roles.
The partnership aims to directly address the perception of hospitality as a temporary or ‘gap-filler’ industry. The course structure and comprehensive curriculum are built to showcase the genuine career progression and dynamic opportunities available.
Zoe Cunliffe, Director of Mixology Group, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with LSST on this vital initiative. Hospitality is a vibrant, rewarding, and highly skilled industry that deserves to be viewed as a first-choice career path. Our goal with this bootcamp is not just to teach skills, but to ignite passion and demonstrate the clear pathway from bartender to bar manager, consultant, or business owner.”
The programme focuses on the highly specialised skills necessary for success in a modern hospitality environment, including:
• Core and Advanced Mixology Techniques
• Bar Supervisor and Leadership Training
• WSET Level 1 in Spirits Qualification
• A dedicated day of Wine Studies covering upselling, pairing, and product knowledge.
Beyond the technical skills, the programme will highlight the unique benefits of a career in hospitality, particularly its flexibility compared to the traditional 9-to-5 corporate grind.
Myles Cunliffe, Director and Head Trainer of Mixology Group added: “The 9-to-5 lifestyle doesn’t suit everyone. Hospitality offers a dynamic environment, diverse shift patterns, and opportunities to travel the world—a flexibility that is invaluable. Even if someone starts in a role to fill a gap, we believe they should strive to be the absolute best at it, and this course provides the tools to achieve that mastery and open doors they didn’t know existed.”
Training will be delivered by Mixology Group’s industry experts at LSST Stratford Campus beginning 12th Jan, ensuring participants gain real-world, hands-on experience alongside theoretical knowledge.
The Skills Bootcamp in Hospitality & Mixology is a 6-week course, running for two days per week. Interested participants and employers can find eligibility criteria and application details on the LSST course webpage. https://www.lsst.ac/hospitality-and-mixology-skills-bootcamp/
