Global drinks industry community, Celebrate Her has teamed up with hospitality training platform, Allara Global and consumer intelligence experts, CGA by NIQ to create the first Data Census Survey for the Drinks Industry launching on Tuesday 25th February 2025.
The aim of the survey, the first of its kind, is to give real insight to the drinks industry and the people who work in it, from bartenders, managers and buyers to brand ambassadors, marketing executives and owners. The survey will delve into why people join the drinks industry and why they leave, what barriers they face, and what opportunities they enjoy. Most importantly, the questions will touch on subjects like parenthood, diversity, inclusion, mental health and safety. Do hospitality workers feel their ability to work decreases after becoming a parent? Do female bartenders feel unsafe getting home from work at night? Are there enough equal opportunities available at their workplace?
The team behind the survey is keen to engage as many respondents as possible and from all backgrounds, ethnicities, countries, ages, genders and areas of expertise in order to improve job roles, address key issues and ensure more support for everyone working in the drinks industry.
A short survey, translated into French, Chinese and Spanish, the questions should only take around 5 minutes to answer. The link will be shared across the Celebrate Her network, as well as websites, WhatsApp groups and social media channels relevant to the industry.
“We are really excited to be partnering with CGA and Allara to make this happen. For a long time we have felt like there is a real gap in our knowledge about the people working within the drinks industry. Whilst Celebrate Her is about championing women, this survey will allow us to gain invaluable insights into the drinks industry as a whole, information and data that we can then use to make positive changes for everyone.” Anna Sebastian, bar consultant and founder of Celebrate Her, a platform dedicated to supporting women in the hospitality industry and founder of Anna Sebastian Hospitality.
“We’re delighted to support Celebrate Her in their mission to champion women in the hospitality industry. At CGA by NIQ, we are passionate about providing insights that drive positive change within the sector, and our expertise in hospitality research will contribute to the project by helping us to explore and address the experiences and needs of women in this vital sector. With a deep commitment to supporting inclusivity and innovation, we are proud to collaborate on this important initiative to create safer, more supportive spaces for women in hospitality worldwide.” Hannah Payne, Consumer Research Director at CGA.
“Hospitality has always been close to my heart; a passion that has defined my career. At Allara Global, we’re passionate about fostering a diverse and inclusive hospitality industry. We believe different perspectives drive innovation and enrich guest experiences. That’s why we’re proud to support Celebrate Her in its mission to champion women, create safe workplaces, and empower the next generation of hospitality leaders.” Andrew Lewis, CEO, Allara Learning and Allara Global.
The survey will run for six weeks. Then, the responses will be analysed by CGA’s expert team and the findings will be shared with industry media, leaders and the wider drinks scene. The hope is that establishments and brands, big and small, will use the findings to influence basic employment practices, codes of practice, and attitudes in the workplace going forward.
