It seems fitting that, in its subterranean Newtown locale, Pleasure Club has launched 10 new cocktails that have been inspired by the dream state realm.
Curated by head of Bar Operations, Sam Kirk, four dream states – daydreams, lucid dreams, false awakenings, and nightmares – have been drawn upon to create bold cocktails designed to heighten the senses.
Daydream cocktails feature flavours including Cazadores Blanco tequila, apricot brandy, strawberry gum distillate, raspberry syrup, illegal mezcal, whites, and lime.
For the more lucid dream state there is the Escape, a blend of Four Pillars olive leaf gin, St Germain, Palo Santo vodka, simple syrup, lemon, and egg whites. The Floating in Space cocktail combines lychee soda, Grey Goose vodka, white chocolate, rosé, ginger, Aperol, and strawberry syrup.
For those wanting to go dark and mysterious, the nightmares selection includes Snakes, made with vodka, yuzu kosho distillate, furikake distillate, Midori, yuzushu, simple syrup, lime, and egg whites.
And to round out the experience, a state of false awakenings delivers the Shattered Dream cocktail, a balance of lemongrass Jack Daniels, lemongrass syrup, pandan milk, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and absinthe, while Naked in Public combines yoghurt-infused Bombay Sapphire, Marionette peach, lemon verbena distillate, lactic acid syrup, peach soda, and coconut dust.
The new menu is now available at Pleasure Club, alongside its classic cocktails, wines, and beer list.
