Setouchi Brewery : Background
Setouchi Brewery is a microbrewery located in Setouchi, in Kagawa, Shikoku. The brewery was established in November 2020, though they didn’t get their brewing license until January 2022. Since then, they have been brewing both in-house beers under the Setouchi Brewery label, and contract brewing for breweries across Japan – both phantom breweries and also bars waiting for their brewing licenses.
Setouchi Brewery began brewing beer using brewing equipment and equipment handled by Farmers, who originally operated Beer Cellar Sapporo. Before that, they had been importing craft beer and hard cider for about seven years under the name of Nezumi Beer.
