Shared Crimson Paradox : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a dark brownish red colour with a massive amount of frothy white head, consisting of small, off-white bubbles. The head left some small streaks down the side of the glass, with some bubbles just hanging around until the end.
The aroma really makes clear about this beer being a paradox. It had an aroma of chocolate and nuttiness, with some earthy and citrus hops present. It really was quite perplexing on the nose. I couldn’t determine if this beer had chocolate malt added, or there had been some cacao nibs added at some point. The hops did cut through that chocolate like nose. There was a touch of alcohol heat present too, but not so much to be boozy.
The body began with a smooth bitterness, with some of that chocolate-like flavour, alongside some citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon, though the latter were light. It was a full bodied beer as well, no chance of gulping this one down any time soon! The lingering chocolate notes, alongside some nuttiness, were pleasant, but not enough to keep me interested
Shared Crimson Paradox : The Bottom Line
It’s a decent enough beer, but not enough to get me back for a second.
