We’ve yet to venture north to The Granite State (aka New Hampshire), but based upon all of the deliciously wacky concoctions that we’ve sampled from a New Hampshire establishment that goes by the name Tamworth Distilling, we’re thinking we need to get to the boozemobile ASAP. As of this writing, we’ve sampled the following from this magical place:
The subject of today’s review is a sticky and sweet sounding libation that Tamworth calls a Sierra Fig Cordial. Here’s what we were able to find out about it:
Our Sierra Fig Cordial captures the true flavor of a whole fig. The Sierra variety was picked for its balance of light molasses notes and bright, wildflower honey aromatics, and was sourced from a family farm in Madeira County, CA. The flavors were double-extracted into Tamworth’s house-made neutral spirit, and finished with rhubarb root and damiana leaf to amplify bitter cocoa and nut flavors as well as floral and fruit aromas, creating the impression of a full, intact fig.
We’re big fans of figs, so when Limpd saw this on the shelves at Old City Philadelphia’s Art in the Age, he just had to pick up a bottle. Click the following video to hear our many thoughts about this beverage:
