A well-balanced sherry influenced whisky, with some spicy ginger and cinnamon notes. I’d have possibly liked to see the fruity notes be more pronounced, the wood influence is more discernible particularly the oaky spice on the finish.
I’ve previously sampled some past annual editions of The Glenturret 12 Year Old, and feel the 2024 batch offers more rich sherry and chocolate notes than past editions. Overall, an easy drinking non-chill filtered and natural colour whisky with a 12-year age statement.
