The Martinez Cocktail – It’s just the booze dancing…

As we told you in our “Buon Giorno, Monsieur!” Cocktail video…

Back in late June, we received an email from Gene Cooper of McMann & Tate Cocktail Company asking if we’d like to try an assortment of their cocktail bitters. Of course we said, “YES!”, so here we are with yet another little cocktail that we concocted in the Booze Dancing Research Lab.

This is the second of four cocktails. This one was made with the McMann & Tate WIldly Aromatic Bitters. Here’s what they have to say about it on their website:

Wild about bitters? With McMann & Tate’s Wildly Aromatic Bitters it easy to drop hints of fruit and spice into your favorite brandy, rum and whiskey cocktails. Our bitters feature subtle overtones of cinnamon and vanilla that are coupled with a blend of orange zest, cranberries and other flavorful spices.

Ingredients alcohol, cranberries, orange peel, vanilla, gentian, cherry bark, clove, cassia, cardamom, anise. ABV 32.2%

Our second cocktail is a riff on the classic Martinez. Here’s the recipe:

    • 1.5 oz. Bluecoat Barrel Aged Gin
    • .5 oz. Sweet Vermouth
    • .25 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
    • 3 drops McMann & Tate WIldly Aromatic Bitters

Method: Stir over ice. Pour into a chilled Martini or Nick & Nora glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
