Headlands’ Summer Open House will include an audio installation and two live sets by alum, Cheryl E. Leonard. Transforming the gym into a Listening Reserve, visitors are invited to experience soundscapes recorded in Marin Headlands and Point Reyes National Seashore. At 1pm and 3:45pm Leonard performs compositions that explore our Northern California coast and ways in which its wild systems regenerate and recover from human presence.

With a focus on electronic soundscapes and digital visuals, Steve’s creations traverse the realms of ambient, drone, noise, and beats. His journey into electronic music began in high school, where an encounter with a neglected synthesizer sparked a lifelong passion. This pivotal moment led Steve to explore and innovate, becoming a pioneer in synthesis.

Other Minds presents scenes in workshop from the work-in-progress, I Am He Whose Life and Soul Are Torment, by American composer Joseph Bohigian, Lebanese-Armenian vocalist Khatchadour Khatchadourian, and the music-technology group Ensemble Decipher. The free workshop performance will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 7:30 pm at the Paul Dresher Ensemble Studio in Oakland, CA. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A with the ensemble, moderated by Charles Amirkhanian.
