Minced Oath is one of several aliases of veteran Dublin electronic musician Dunk Murphy, who also operates as Sunken Foal and SuperValu. Recent activity in this guise includes the EP Two Way Silver on Moot Tapes, and playing support to Autechre on their October 2023 Dublin visit.
Glares’ six tracks are based on a gently enveloping soundscape of gamelan-like metallic percussion, resonant drones and reverb. The impression is simultaneously organic and electronic, somewhere between Harry Bertoia’s Sonambient recordings and Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works Volume II.
