Monody has an incidental attraction to the rule of three. They are a trio making music from three corners of the country including Oregon, Florida and New York and have just released a new 7-song EP entitled “Abandoned Wisdom,” their third release on the Distortion Productions label. This new EP abundantly supplies a wondrous collision between synth electronics, organic percussion and vocal harmonies. Monody members Daniel Edgar, David Battrick and Geoff Tripoli have always been driven by a shared love for electronic music along with a passion for thunderous concert performances that feature live drums. On “Abandoned Wisdom”, Monody reaches further into the future pop realm with addictive songs like “Artificial Ignorance” and “Stand,” that showcase the production work of Geoff Pinckney (Tenek, Cyclone Eye, The Nine) and the mastering of Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg (Rotersand). Rounding out the new EP are remixes by Geoff Pinckney, Crane11 and fellow label mates Red Lokust. “Abandoned Wisdom” is available now through Distortion Production on all digital and streaming outlets.
