RELIGION OF HEARTBREAK Drops The Evocative & Introspective New EP, ‘Dream Reflection’ – The Noise Beneath The Snow

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

February 13th, 2025 – Darkwave band, RELIGION OF HEARTBREAK has just unveiled their latest EP, the evocative and introspective Dream Reflection.

Dream Reflection’s theme revolves about our endless obsession with perfection and the resistance to show our true inner-selves. RELIGION OF HEARTBREAK taps into the collective loneliness of these feelings and suggests that we can all commune together with music to heal a little bit of our souls together on the dance floor. The EP presents a cohesive statement about modern isolation and the personas we construct. The result feels familiar and alien—like catching your reflection in a black mirror and seeing someone else staring back.

Dream Reflection carries forward the motorized heartbeat of classic darkwave while forging its own metallic path. Drawing from EBM and Synth Pop traditions, this five-track release sees the band strip away unnecessary embellishments, leaving only the essential elements and textural remnants of the music. The EP’s centerpiece and title track emerges like a ghost in the machine, with Mikal Shapiro’s coolly-delivered vocals floating above Dedric Moore’s gritty synth programming and precision-guided guitar along with Krysztof Nemeth’s synth pad percussion.

Dream Reflection is available on all major digital outlets including Bandcamp and Spotify..

About the “Dark Hour Of Meditation” video:

The video concept was a playful nod to the 80’s bands where the artists were clearly miming to the song. In the dark hour of meditation where the “past comes back to life”, we enter the dreamlike state where memories and dreams collide.

Regan Moore, from Dualway, shot and edited the video. “I wanted to capture the essence of the song as if the viewer was looking through a spinning cosmic globe.” Images become surreal and fantastical making it a dangerous concoction to rewrite how our failed relationships were only the best of times.
