Murmur Amsterdam is a cosy and unique listening bar (a popular concept!) in Amsterdam North. The menu here is compact, yet it ticks all the boxes, without causing any decision stress. The dish of the week changes regularly (as the name suggests) and is a bit larger; the other dishes are more like snacks or small bites. They also serve a range of special drinks, and it’s the kind of place where time flies. Before you know it, the evening is over.

Barracuda opened its doors in 2024 and has quickly become a famous seafood restaurant on the Aambeeldstraat. Your favourite YUSU classics, but in a laid-back setting that feels like a super trendy sports canteen? That’s precisely what you’ll find at NO-YUSU Amsterdam, in the heart of Amsterdam North. You might recognise the location from Kometen Brood, which used to be here. The concept of NO-YUSU is very similar to the one in the East; both serve speciality coffees, matchas and homemade snacks, but the look and feel are quite different. In North, you won’t find a picture-perfect café – instead, you’ll walk into an ample open space that feels more like a retro sports hall.

Sam’s Koffie Noord Amsterdam is the second location of Sam’s Koffie, which already has a café on Welnastraat in Oud-West. The owners found that opening a coffee bar in the North was a whole different story compared to Oud-West. Despite that, Sam’s Koffie Noord quickly became a beloved hotspot for both young and old.

Benelux Bar is next to Europa and comes from the same creators as Europa and Europizza. But this venue is entirely different from the other two, with the focus here on snacks and drinks. It’s an excellent place for a bite: house-made sourdough bread with creamy butter, pickled artichoke hearts, and fried asparagus are just a few of the delicious options. The cocktails are also one of a kind. Every drink they serve features ingredients from Empirical in Copenhagen – a distillery called a ‘flavour company’.

You probably know The Beef Chief Amsterdam from their kitchen at Oedipus Brewery. They’ve opened a new location in Amsterdam North, and it’s one you’ll want to know for your go-to burgers. Unlike the trendy smash burgers of today, the patties on The Beef Chief menu are anything but flattened. They’re thick, super fresh, and everything you hope for when ordering a classic burger.

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙: 𝘃𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝗻.
Ik vierde mijn verjaardag met een nachtje Nijmegen en een heel bijzonder diner en we logeerden in een fijn boshuisje.
Jullie weten: zonder reizen kan ik niet. Dicht bij huis net zo fijn als aan de andere kant van de wereld. Ik ben gewoon té nieuwsgierig!
Door die nieuwsgierigheid naar nieuwe plekken en een onuitputtelijke drive om alles uit mijn vrije tijd te halen wat erin zit, is ooit Your Little Black Book ontstaan.
Tips delen en jou helpen je leven leuker te maken, zonder dat je het zelf allemaal hoeft uit te zoeken, is na 13 jaar nog steeds wat ik het allerliefst doe!
Alle veranderingen (die nu wel heel hard gaan, voor mijn gevoel) wakkeren mijn nieuwsgierigheid alleen maar aan. Van AI tot een grote omslag in de horeca, waarvan ik voel dat die gaat komen.
En van nog bewustere keuzes maken. Zo boekte ik voor mijn verjaardag wél een peperduur restaurant, maar ben ik afgehaakt met bijna dagelijks dure broodjes halen of verse bloemen. Ik hoor vrienden om mij heen ook steeds meer over de discussie ‘wat iets je nog waard is’. Wel een interessant topic, waar we het vaker over moeten hebben, denk ik. Maar eerst: part 2 van de LIFE LATELY update!

Heb jij restaurants op je lijstje staan waar je nog een keer wilt eten voor iets speciaals? Voor mijn verjaardag boekte De Nieuwe Winkel. Zo bijzonder!

Verse bloemen voelen écht als een cadeautje, maar ik ben afgehaakt bij deze verwennerij qua uitgave. Dus vroeg ik voor mijn verjaardag een duurzaam boeket veldbloemen.

Soms fantaseer ik wel eens over een eigen huisje ergens in de natuur. Dat fantaseren eindigt altijd met de conclusie dat ik steeds iets nieuws wil ontdekken, zoals dit Wikkelhouse van @stayokayhostels.

Wie mij al langer volgt, heeft het al vaak gehoord, maar de Museumkaart is het grootste cadeau dat je jezelf kunt geven.

In plaats van uit gemak altijd koffie to go halen, doe ik dat nu heel af en toe en dat voelt echt als een klein geluksmomentje!

Als mijn zoontje op zaterdag naar Kung Fu-les is, gaan wij vaak even naar de Lindenmarkt om te ontbijten. Dit keer: Jian Bing van Mong Mong en een broodje van Charly’s!

Op reis hou ik zo van foodtourtje langs de lekkerste marktkramen. Broodje hier, hapje daar. Favorieten op de Lindenmarkt: Mr. Brasa, Uitgepoeleerd en Trunk Food.
➍ 𝗠𝗼𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗴 In de meivakantie reisden we door China en ik kreeg deze Foo Dogs voor Moederdag. Het liefste cadeau ever, als aandenken aan deze bijzondere trip.

Als er één stad in China is die je gezien wilt hebben, dan is het wel Shanghai. Van mooie musea tot straatjes in de Franse wijk om eindeloos in te verdwalen.

Ik ben de tel kwijt hoeveel dumplings we hebben gegeten. Maar soup dumplings met crab zijn echt een must! 🥟🦀

16 dagen China met alleen een handbagagekoffertje en een rugzak per persoon. Ik wil nooit meer anders als we naar een warmweerbestemming gaan!

Samen fietsen door Shanghai 🥰! Met stip een van de mooiste nieuwe herinneringen die we deze meivakantie maakten.
China; je was GE-WEL-DIG! Ontelbaar veel kommen met noodles, iedere dag bao buns en dumplings in alle vormen en maten 🥟, de lekkerste Peking duck ever, panda’s 🐼 en dwalen door de Verboden Stad en over de Chinese muur.
De tips komen er aan, maar eerst BACK TO WORK en school.
Ik ben heel benieuwd wat jij voor leuks hebt gedaan de afgelopen twee weken. Van nieuwe restaurants tot iets leuks in Nederland of misschien was je ook wel op reis?

MINI VLOG vanuit Hong Kong! Wat was het genieten om hier weer terug te zijn 🐉. Al etend de stad door, waar ik misschien wel 10 x geweest ben, maar waar altijd iets nieuws te ontdekken is.
Omdat de laatste keer in HK al een tijd geleden was wilde ik ook graag naar wat klassiekers terug die we niet in Nederland hebben! Dus de 1e avond gingen we direct na het inchecken door voor een easy dinner bij DTF 🔥 op loopafstand van ons hotel.
Geen trending audio, wel real time verslag van onze reis zonder al te veel te editten ☺️. We zijn namelijk iedere dag de hele dag op pad en zo in het moment aan het reizen. Weinig tijd voor social updates, maar wel heel veel tips voor een nieuwe Hong Kong Travel Guide. Dat gevoel doet me bijna denken aan onze wereldreis een paar jaar geleden 🥰.

Nieuwe lievelings van het team achter Metro!
Ik neem je mee naar @caferestaurantsandberg waar je 7 dagen per week kunt lunchen in Amsterdam alsof het weekend is.
En zo werd een doodgewone woensdag opeens een little Friday ☺️ met 🦪, 🥂 en meer 🍾.
Dagkaart meer dan goedgekeurd, nu snel nog een keer terug voor de avondkaart en het bewonderen van de lichtval als het gaat schemeren. 🥺
Had ik al gezegd dat ze ook een terras hebben aan het Museumplein? ☀️
