Brunch in Amsterdam East // Yourlittleblackbook.me

Massalia Restobar

Like Leo (see below), Massalia Restobar is located at Beukenplein. Massalia is the Greek name for Marseille, a city in southern France originally founded by the Greeks. Those happen to be the roots of chef Angelo Kremmydas, who is also at the helm of the popular Gitane. He already introduced Amsterdam-West to the special flavours of his homeland, and now it’s East’s turn.

Greek Embassy

On the Weesperzijde, you’ll find the Greek Embassy, where coffee and Greek traditions (and delicacies) come together. They are known for their Greek comfort food, and that’s precisely what you’ll be craving during a weekend brunch. Tip: try the Greek ‘kayanas’ eggs.

For lunch, you can choose from various sandwiches and lunch dishes such as burrata with watermelon and classics like steak tartare.
