Buying craft beer in Amsterdam: 4 great places
There’s a good chance you’ll feel overwhelmed when you step into one of the shops below. At De Bierkoning, they have no fewer than 1000 (!) bottled beers! Fortunately, beer shops employ experts who may have tasted a large part of the collection. They always have great advice, so you’re sure to succeed here.
De Bierkoning
Since 1985, this has been the go-to spot for beer enthusiasts looking for unique beers from home and abroad. With a range of over 2000 beers, there’s something for everyone. And if you feel overwhelmed by the selection, the knowledgeable staff will gladly help you find your way.

More places for buying craft beer in Amsterdam
Sterk
Beer lover or not, chances are you’ve been to Sterk before. This spot is popular for its long opening hours but also for its extensive range of craft beers. This ‘culinary indulgence shop’ offers a changing selection and buys unique beers from lesser-known breweries.

Bier&Co
You’ll find Bier&Co, one of Europe’s largest beer importers in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Groningen. It all started in the 1980s when a group of squatters began importing Belgian beer for their friends, and the rest is history. Bier&Co still focuses on Belgian beer but has significantly expanded its range. On their website, daretodrinkdifferent, consumers can also purchase beers.
