Atmosphere and interior at The Boulevard Amsterdam
It almost feels like stepping into a chain restaurant at The Boulevard. That’s not the case – at least not yet. The owner of this establishment has more than twenty years of experience in hospitality and is certainly open to expanding his empire, which has been around since December 2024. The interior is simple, giving the impression that the place is more suitable for takeaway. Still, you can enjoy relaxing and savouring the large portions in peace.
This new sandwich shop doesn’t have a Japanese-themed interior – despite selling Sandos – due to the ingredients being sourced from all corners of the world. While sandos are Japanese sandwiches, the toppings they use at The Boulevard come from all over the globe. And one more thing: traditional sandos only have meat and cabbage, but the sandwiches here are much more generously filled.
Menu and dishes at The Boulevard
The menu features unique combinations, with the brioche dog immediately catching the eye. The version with Bulgogi beef has been a bestseller since the beginning, but the version with prawns (Tao’s favourite dog) is also a favourite for many. Then there are the sando sandwiches, which are called BLV Brioche Sandwiches. Tip: try the Tempehrament; you’ll be amazed.
In addition to their famous sandwiches, you’ll also find poké bowls and build your own bowls, where you can get as creative as you like. And, of course, there are the nachos: available as a complete meal – including chicken and pico de gallo – or as a side dish. This shows again that the owners draw inspiration from worldwide for their menu. And those worldly flavours blend perfectly.
The Boulevard is perfect for a takeaway lunch
The sandwiches at The Boulevard are easy to take away and perfect for lunch. A hearty lunch, to be exact, because even if you share them, you’ll still have a complete meal.
