Back in Paris – Gotham Gal

Paris is one of the cities where we spend so much time that we can chill, and for me, that is seriously needed. We are quite leisurely in the morning before heading out for an epic day of walking. We returned from Amsterdam by train, so civilized, and had dinner at Le Dauphin. We have been there countless times, and the artichoke might be the best we have ever had, anywhere.

The next day we walked over to the Marais, stopped in one of my favorite stores, Broken Arm, and then Marche Des Enfant Rouges for lunch at Chez Taeko. There are many different spots to eat in the covered marketplace, but we always go to Chez Taeko, and have been coming for fifteen years. Why has this food market survived, and so many do not? What makes this market unique is that each spot also has its own set of tables, so it is really a market of outdoor restaurants vs. a fast casual spot where people just grab and go.

Next stop, Dover Street Market, one of the best stores in the world, hands down. The good news is that they are located in some of my favorite cities. Rose Bakery is part of the landscape, and perfect for a little treat after shopping.

We strolled over to dinner after an afternoon of relaxation. Like NYC, I love the beat of the street and watching people enjoy community.

We dined at Saint Sebastian, my third time back. This tostado with pulled pork, onions and capers was delicious.

The next day, we visited an AI art exhibit at the Jeu de Paume. The technology is moving so fast that neither of us was impressed by the exhibit. Lunch was at Bagnard, where they make a killer tuna nicoise salad.

Dinner this night was at Soma Saintonge, a Japanese Izakaya. They own three spots in the city, each different. The dishes were delicious, and we would definitely go back. Raw tuna with cherries, kalamata olives

Another day in Paris.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
