I feel so insanely sad, scared, and worried about our country. The greed for power, devoid of empathy and not too bright, as they strive to become what they believe wealth means, makes me wonder what it means to be an American. Do I even want to be an American when someone like Donald Trump and the right-wing stupidity rules over the country?
The concept that the states should manage their problems makes no sense, considering the red states, which seem to lean into this, are broke without capital from the federal government. Why the majority of people have voted against their interests is mind-boggling.
On the other hand Zohran who is 180 degrees opposite will more than likely be the next mayor of New York. Instead of the older generation giving advice they are tossing him under the bus with money. Classic politics instead of embracing the voice and the new and help us move along. He is not a fluke, he is the future. People want change, not the same rhetoric with no leadership that we have been witnessing for years.
I am so disappointed and disgusted with the corruption, the lack of leadership, the lack of empathy, the older politicians holding onto their power, the mistrust and Supreme Court, the rounding up of our citizens that I almost want to crawl inside the life that we built from nothing and close my eyes and cry.
The next year is going to be very interesting.
