Love is in the air right now, but we adore cows like every day is Valentine’s Day.
From their adorable zoomies to their best friend snuggles, there are so many reasons to love cows—and see them as the individuals they are!
1. Cows have best friends
Like humans, cows are emotional beings who form close relationships. They even have best friends, choose to spend the most time with specific individuals, and even become stressed when they’re separated.
2. Cows are amazing mothers
3. Cows take care of each other
Cows are not only mothers to their calves and those they “adopt” but often mother figures to others because cattle live in matriarchal herds. The leader maintains relationships and ensures the well-being of her herd. Cows also spend more time grooming those who are sick or injured.
4. Cows get the zoomies
Cows, especially young calves, love to run and jump when they’re free to do so! In animal agriculture, most cows are confined to crowded factory farms and feedlots—but in the freedom of Farm Sanctuary, they can zoom all they want!
5. Cows remember you
6. Cows are basically grass puppies
Who wouldn’t fall head over hooves for these adorable animals?
