VFX artist Rob Dickinson (Decoded) has released Mesh Cleaner for Blender, a handy free add-on for fixing common errors with 3D models in one click.

The Python script is targeted at cleaning up 3D scans, but can be used to prepare any 3D model for rendering, animation or 3D printing.

Fix common artifacts in 3D models with a single click
Mesh Cleaner groups all of Blender’s key geometry-cleaning tools into one UI panel, making it possible to fix all of the common artifacts that cause rendering problems in a single click.

As well as removing double vertices and loose geometry, the add-on identifies and fills holes in meshes, and converts triangles to all-quad meshes for ease of editing and animation.

Price and system requirements
Mesh Cleaner for Blender is compatible with Blender 4.3. It’s a free download.
