FutureDeluxe Feel the Flow for Nike Air Max Dn8 Launch – Motion design


The CG sneaker wars continue full force with this latest volley launched by the design and motion team at FutureDeluxe for the experiential unveiling of Nike’s Air Max Dn8.

From the team at FutureDeluxe: “With the Air Max Dn8, Nike’s Dynamic Air technology is extended to the full length of the foot with two dual-pressure air units and eight tubes – a sustained flow of air from heel to toe – delivering cushioning, motion, and sensation.
 

“We were tasked with creating a suite of content for the Dn8 experiential launch, demonstrating the design journey of the sneaker.”

 
“To express these innovations, we were tasked with creating a suite of content for the Dn8 experiential launch, demonstrating the design journey of the sneaker with animations capturing this flow of air during foot impact with rich texturing and lighting.

“We experimented using Houdini and TouchDesigner to create a fluid simulation reflecting the Dn8’s impact, highlighting the seamless movement and comfort. We also crafted a surreal tunnel scene using elegant blurs and slow shutter effects, where the camera flies through the Dn8, immersing viewers in the Air Max world.”
