Gachiakuta Episode 2 – AngryAnimeBitches Anime Blog

The more I watch this series, the more ridiculously edgy I am finding it lol. However, it is a very interesting watch so I feel like I’ll stick with it for the long run. Especially since I recently found out this series will be 24 eps long, but I’m here for the ride. This episode introduced a lot of different things such as the Pit is not actually a pit, but a separate world of sorts and the world “above” this zone is called the “Sphere.” And wow, the fact that the Sphere essentially ruined this world by just dumping their trash into this other world without a care about where it went is honestly awful. Especially when you take in consideration that their waste literally poisoned their world and created monsters because of how toxic everything became. Despite the crazed locals we meet who were planning on selling Rudo off, I really can’t blame them for their disdain towards people from the Sphere. To them, they literally are the source of their decaying world. It’s akin to a neighbor dumping all their trash (and toxic waste) into your yard without your consent. Even the air is rancid and caused Rudo to throw up blood. I cannot imagine how RANK the air must be. As someone who is extremely sensitive to smell, I probably would die if were there in seconds.

Another big thing this episode introduces to us is the powers. For some reason, going into this series, I did not think there would be powers or special abilities. That trailer I watched really went over my head because I literally don’t remember much from it aside from the giant monsters. Not sure why I didn’t realize or foresee this series having abilities, I guess I just thought they’d be using technology or something. Maybe my brain is stuck in the early days of Attack on Titan lol. Anyways, there is definitely a lot more to Rudo’s “curse marks” since they look to be the main source of his power. Especially since ain’t no way a normal kid would be able to even hurt these garbage monsters. I do like the foreshadowing they gave him in the initial battle before they revealed the true essence of his power. Since with the added context, it now makes a lot of sense how he was even able to split that garbage monster in half with a thin sheet of rusted metal or hit the monster away with a metal pipe.

But it seems like Rudo’s respect and appreciation for every object fuels his abilities. While I haven’t seen any other ability aside from Enjin and Rudo, I can only assume that a “Giver” can only fuel one object and that object alone. But what makes Rudo seemingly special is that he can put his energy into multiple objects and isn’t constrained to just the one. Which will definitely be interesting moving forward because he that could allow some really interesting fights and flexibility on Rudo’s part. The concept that every object has a soul is fairly interesting, which is probably why Rudo is allowed to use multiple objects as weapons since he sees the value in them despite their state.

Enjin is the first main side character we see and he’s definitely shaping up to be either a mentor-figure or brother-figure for Rudo. Or both. Probably both. No one is gonna take the father-figure spot from Retgo though. And man, Enjin is literally just Tengen in a different universe. As soon as the guy started yelling, all I could hear was Tengen. I’m interested to see how he and Rudo end up bonding, even though Rudo is less than enthusiastic about being brought under his wing. His awestruck “hell no” just absolutely kills me. Sorry Rudo, you are a main shounen protagonist, it is a requirement that you be brought into an “organization.” Though I do take issue with Enjin bringing and leaving Rudo at the doorestep of some crazed locals. At first I thought they were crazy, but then was also fooled by their seemingly welcoming and good nature… only for them to immediately prove my initial feelings correct and that people really suck in this universe even if they have a right to feel disdain towards the people of the Sphere. But that doesn’t excuse their actions of trying to sell Rudo off to be tortured when they don’t even realize that he’d probably be the most sympathetic towards their situation. But man, I had to look away when Rudo ended up tearing the skin and muscle off that guy’s fingers. Hopefully things won’t be… that graphic moving forward, but for all I know, that might just be the precursor to this series. Hopefully I won’t get too disgusted.

Rudo is honestly a very sweet kid under all that angst and it’s sad to see how his circumstances are constantly forcing him to fall deeper and deeper into anger and despair. Hopefully with the support of the new organization he’s being recruited into will help give him some sort of levity for his raging emotions and be the proper place for him to feel accepted and encouraged. Poor kid has just constantly been taking L’s socially from everyone around him.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
