While I haven’t finalized the spring season preview, one of the shows that might be under my radar just aired. Yes, it’s about a teenage witch girl who only has one year to live unless she goes on a mission to save herself.
At last, Meg Raspberry, a young cheerful witch who received training from Miss Faust. She also takes care of a bunch of animals. However, when Meg turns 17, she finds out from Faust that she only has one year left to live.
That is what Faust, her foster parent and one of the “Seven Stages,” one of the smartest mages in the world, found out through a vision. Meg, when she turns 18, she will age 1000x faster. 10 years every 3 days before she passes away. This kind of reminds me of that movie called Old, where people on the beach age quickly for some reason
However, Faust has a solution. Meg has to fill up the enchanted bottle with tears to save herself. The mission is not easy since she has to collect 1000 of them. It sounds like Kobato filling up a bottle to have a wish granted. The question is, can Meg pull it off?
Eventually, a young girl named Anna talked to Meg as she was looking for flowers for her mother’s resting area. Yes, her parents went on trips and eventually had Anna after looking through Anna’s family photo book. Her mom is into herbs, which is the collection Meg sees when visiting. When Anna took Meg to her mother’s grave, it is evident that she passed away. Also, her father seems down as a result of losing his wife. Anna, of course, wants to find something to ensure that her father and her mother are resting peacefully.
Meg finds a solution to make the cherry blossom trees bloom, as in the illusion around the cemetery. It was enough to make Anna and her father happy. After all, it’s the flower that her mother wants Meg to see. At least they can move on, although the loss was painful. With that, Meg gains two drops in her bottle and wonders where it came from.
Faust said it’s pure tears, which, of course, have extraordinary power. She thinks Meg is a witch who can open people’s hearts, although Meg doesn’t think so. After all, she learns that she only has one year to live and has to do this mission for a chance to survive and become immortal. The question is, can she pull it off? We’ll see, but overall, the first episode is pretty enjoyable. However, it depends on how the next few episodes will go, whether I cover it or review it at the end.
