Aru Majo ga Shinu Made – Episode 10 – Meg’s Important Mission and The Truth About Her Origins

Meg is happy that she is close to her destination.

After Meg defies gravity by managing to change an oak tree into a Sakura hybrid, she has another important task to do. It involves doing the same thing again, but can she pull it off in return for having her leg fixed?

Meg is back to her usual cheerful self after feeling dazed after recovering from her injuries. They finally arrived at Aquamarine, a Venice-like city, to have her leg treated by the only male sage, Jack Russo, the sage of life. No wonder they don’t name all the sages witches. I find it amusing how Meg curses him out when he’s not there.

Faust is the one that brought Meg to the hospital to save her life.
Faust tearing up after seeing Meg successfully survive.

But from there, he meets with an old doctor who tells how Faust saved Meg. Believe it or not, Faust was looking for survivors, and the only one she found was Meg, who got contaminated by magic from a disaster. However, Jack is the one who manages to save her life by taking all the accumulated magic out of the body. After Faust saw that Meg had made it, Faust shed tears of joy.

Sure, Faust hid this fact from Meg for an apparent reason. After all, she wants to keep it a secret, given the tragedy of Meg losing her original home and family. Of course, Meg processes it since, after all, she has a home and also made a lot of friends. Still, she wonders if the doctor exaggerated the story, although she doesn’t doubt Faust.

Meg having a snack.
Yes, this is the Sage of Life, Jack, which look like a mobster.
Meg gets annoyed at him for scaring the girl.

Eventually, after eating some fish, she runs into Mary and her mother. They took her to the house where Mary’s mother’s father lives. He had an accident, and a man who looked like a mobster came in to treat the man. It’s amusing how Meg doesn’t realize that the man was Jack Russo all along as Meg scolds him. He has a daughter named Coco. He knows what Meg pulled off and hopes that by healing Meg, she can attempt to do the same with a patient.

Believe it or not, Meg is no longer an apprentice level witch anymore.
As expected, Stage V victims are very scary looking like with Serena from last time.

From this, we learn the various levels of magic contamination. Remember when Serena was turning into a monster? There are 5 stages of contamination. When a person or being reaches stage five, there is no turning back as they are no longer human. They are purged, which is how Jack lost his wife. He also works in disaster zones and treats patients at Aquamarine, where they can receive the best possible treatments. In a way, it’s like cancer or radiation poisoning. How much depends if one can survive depends on exposure or how long the cancer is in there.

Meg trying to recreate what she did on a lab rat.

What kind of role does Meg play? Well, he wants Meg to transform the bad part so that it can reverse the effects on the patient. After seeing how powerful Meg’s powers are, it’s apparent that she can do the task at hand. Yes, the patient she has to deal with is in pain as they are at the fifth stage. For Meg, this reminds her of what happened to Serena, and she is confident that she can pull it off. First, she needs to figure out how to do it on a lab rat before doing it on the patient. That’s while being treated on her leg.

Is Meg cheating on Fine by getting close to Coco?
Sophie catches her in on the act.

One night with one week to go, Meg had dinner with Inori and Coco. Yep, Meg gets close to Coco as Sophie appears and takes a picture to send to Fine. Yep, Sophie is trying to tattle on her that Meg is cheating. Then again, Meg’s female harem is growing, with Fine as her first wife, Sophie as her second, and Coco as her third.

Yep, she is sending the evidence to Fine.

Either way, Meg is happy to meet Sophie again. While walking back, they see a strange scribble on a monument created by a legendary witch who saved Aquamarine. Tethys protected the city by ringing the Bell of Blessings, creating a barrier that remains in place to this day. Sadly, the bell can’t be rung now. However, with the scriptures shining, it makes me wonder what will happen next in the 2nd part.
