As the men close in, Momo tries to fight back but gets restrained and falls into the water, feeling too lightheaded to resist. Just when things look bad, the hot spring suddenly collapses—taking out the attackers and sparing her. Nearby, Turbo Granny casually reveals she snuck into Momo’s bag to enjoy the bath. The destruction draws the local chamber of commerce, who recognize the men as members of the infamous Kito Family and assume they’re behind the damage. While the Kito men flee, Momo and Turbo Granny slip away. Momo thanks her for the save, but the maneki-neko doll clarifies it was due to the nature of Momo’s vessel—not Turbo Granny’s doing. When Momo brings up Jiji’s house, Turbo Granny warns her: the place is soaked in blood and tied to something dangerous ahead.
After finding the hidden room, Okarun tells Jiji to hold off until Momo gets back—he’s not trying to get jumped by cursed nonsense again. Before they can decide what to do next, the doorbell rings. Jiji rushes over, hoping it’s Momo… but nope—it’s the Kito women. They stroll right in like they own the place (which, technically, they do) and start ranting about the neighbors mistreating them. The head Kito offers Jiji snacks and throws in a passive-aggressive reminder that she’s letting him stay there rent-free since his parents were hospitalized.
The Kito Landlords
Okarun asks who they are, and Jiji whispers they’re his landlords—and to please not mention the busted-up wall. When the head Kito asks where he disappeared to earlier, Jiji plays it cool and says he went to get Okarun. But then she brings up the spirit medium stuff again, and the Kito women get heated, warning Jiji he’s messing with their rep. He denies it, but she shuts him down with a literal shotgun, tossing in a reminder that she does have a hunting license. Jiji claps back—license or not, pointing a gun at someone is still a crime.
Then the male Kitos show up, bringing Officer Tsuru along (yep, the same guy who helped them escape the chamber of commerce mess). One of the Kito men starts grilling Okarun, testing if he really knows Jiji by asking his favorite soccer team. Okarun passes, thanks to a poster conveniently covering the hole they made. Things chill out—until Naki catches Jiji lying about never bringing a girl over.
Meanwhile, Momo checks out the Tsuchinoko shrine and finds the priest mid-pose, trying way too hard to become a Bootuber. She shows up hoping to see the legendary Tsuchinoko but gets disappointed when all he shows her is a shed snake skin. Sensing her reaction, the priest explains the backstory: apparently, people used to offer human sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko to stop the nearby volcano from erupting. The “Tsuchinoko” on display? Just something his dad made up to bring in tourists, which eventually turned into people praying to it instead. He admits the legend was born from fear, and his real role is just to keep the story going—not repeat the past. Even if deep down, he’s just chasing internet clout. Momo ends up suggesting he post the whole thing online, which totally catches him off guard.
The Mongolian Death Worm
Momo returns to Jiji’s house, hoping he and Okarun are getting along. Instead, she finds them both unconscious and beaten—the Kito Family’s already there. Their leader is thrilled all three “offerings” are now present. As they charge, Momo fights back but gets knocked through a wall by a powerful blow, landing in a hidden room. There, the Kito head reveals the truth: the house is an altar, and for generations, their family has sacrificed people to the Tsuchinoko to stop the volcano from erupting. Momo realizes this likely includes Jiji’s parents. The floor turns to quicksand beneath her—the ritual has begun.
Momo tries to escape with Turbo Granny’s help, but the Kito Family stops her. Okarun and Jiji wake up and shove the Kito Family into the room with them. Everyone falls into the Tsuchinoko’s underground lair—an eerie space built from old houses. Turbo Granny and Okarun quickly identify the creature: it’s not a god, but a kuragari—a Mongolian Death Worm. The Kito Family still tries to offer Momo, Okarun, and Jiji as sacrifices, but the kuragari devours them instead. The trio flees into one of the houses. Inside, Jiji turns to see Momo and Okarun holding their heads—then Okarun steps forward, his body shifting as Turbo Granny takes over and lets out a furious roar at Jiji.
