Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 165 Manga Review
フェアリーテイル 100年クエスト
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
At Magia Dragon, Elefseria shows how all of the dragon gods are again active and at full power. He also mentions the giant lacrimas that have appeared in each of the dragon god’s territories. Further, he mentions that humans are turning into dragons. Natsu realizes this must be the Dragon King Festival Ignia mentioned. He mentions Dark Faris, but Erza isn’t interested. As such, Natsu decides each member will destroy a lacrima.
Elsewhere, Dark Faris summons her Demons of the Book of Faris, Oracion Sechs. While they gab, Zero mentions how he owes Dark Faris his life. However, he has no intention of following her orders as he only wants to destroy. She informs him that they will have to fight members from Fairy Tail. This provokes a reaction from Zero.
Lucy arrives in Ermina, where water spouts are everywhere. As she races through the city, she’s attacked by humans who’ve turned into dragons. The ground beneath her collapses. As such, she finds herself under water. There, a dragon-form Karameel challenges Lucy.
Thoughts/Review:
It wasn’t hard to guess that the lacrimas would play a role in this story. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 165 pretty much laid out what I expected in that regard. What I didn’t expect is that each member of Team Natsu would go to destroy a separate lacrima. It doesn’t make sense to me. But everyone’s stupid ’cause “we go faster if split up.” 😑 No stops to think, “Wow. You know, there might be obstacles in the way.”
To that end, Lucy finds out first. Not sure how she survives an underwater fight where (1) she doesn’t kill her opponent and (2) she doesn’t drown. Hey, maybe Aquarius can magically show up again to save the day! 😅
As to Oracion Sechs, meh. We get the boring smack talk introductions. I think the chapter all but confirms Zero is Brian. So somehow, Dark Faris brought him back. Upon hearing Fairy Tail’s name, he gets the shakes. 🤷♂️ Can’t say I’m jazzed as this feels like a “been there, done that” moment.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 165 was kind of a “meh” chapter for me.
