If you’re into survival games with a mix of strategy and storytelling, Frozen Ship is one to keep on your radar. Developed by Nionetix, this game blends first-person exploration with city-building mechanics, putting you in charge of a moving settlement in a post-apocalyptic frozen world. Think The Long Dark meets Frostpunk, but with a roaming base instead of a fixed one.

Starting June 9th, players will get their first hands-on experience with Frozen Ship during Steam Next Fest, where a public demo will be available until June 16th. This is the perfect chance to test out its survival mechanics, crew management, and the harsh, ever-changing world before its early access launch in August 2025.
You’ll be leading an expedition aboard the Steinfish, a massive mobile base carrying the last remnants of humanity. It’s up to you to make tough calls, manage resources, and navigate a procedurally generated icy wasteland filled with unpredictable challenges. One wrong decision, and your entire crew could be at risk.

For those eager to jump in even earlier, there will be a closed demo in April 2025 with limited access—so if you want a sneak peek before everyone else, keep an eye out for more details.
Survival fans, strategy lovers, and adventure seekers alike—mark your calendars for June 9th and prepare to brave the cold.
