One Piece Episode 1126: “Looming Despair! Admiral Kizaru’s Depressing Mission”

The day before, Kuma climbed the Red Line and made it to Mary Geoise. Soldiers tried to stop him, but he kept fighting. Then Sakazuki showed up and attacked, calling him a threat. Kuma was forced to retreat under Sakazuki’s assault. While watching him leave, Sakazuki remembered Bonney, who never believed Kuma willingly became a cyborg even after being captured.

In the present, the Marines destroy the last Sea Beast Weapons and make it to the Fabiriophase. Luffy goes Gear 4: Snakeman and starts hitting Kizaru, but even with the speed boost, he can’t keep up. Kizaru says he doesn’t want to kill Vegapunk—he’s just following orders. He lands a heavy blow on Luffy, smashing him into the Vegaforce-01 and launching him into the Frontier Dome.

Luffy transform to Gear 5

As the robot explodes, Lilith mourns its loss, but Kizaru shows up again. Bonney attacks, but he dodges and kicks her into the Dome. Franky jumps in next, but Kizaru avoids him too and heads for Punk Records.

Inside Punk Records, Vegapunk, Edison, and Atlas finally crack the passcode. They’re ready to shut off the barrier and escape—unaware Vegaforce-01 is already gone. Kizaru arrives to break the news and gets ready to attack. But Luffy, now in Gear 5, crashes in and launches a counter. At the same time, the Iron Giant down below starts to wake up.

Conclusion

If Luffy has any limitations it’s the fact that he requires time to transform into his Gears. While he can skip earlier gears the time it takes still can put him at a disadvantage. Furthermore, the transformation will leave him exhausted at some point. If you compare this to the seemingly endless energy the Logia type Devil Fruits produce, Luffy and others are at a disadvantage. That said it doesn’t appear that many enemies of Luffy care or take advantage of these weakness. The fight between Luffy and Kizaru is just heating up. I can’t wait for the next episode.
