Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō is a historical fantasy light novel series by Moto’o Nakanishi and illustrated by Tamaki. It was first serialized online between 2013 and 2016 on Arcadia and later on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Futabasha acquired the series and published fourteen volumes from June 2019 to November 2023.

A manga adaptation by Yū Satomi was published by Futabasha since September 2021. Both the original series and manga adaptation are licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime television series adaptation, produced by Yokohama Animation Laboratory, is set to premiere in March 2025. The anime is based on the Futaba Bunko fantasy light novel series, which began in feudal Japan and progressed into modern times.

The anime adaptation of Moto’o Nakanishi’s novel series, Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō, will begin airing on March 31. The series will feature an ending song by Hilcrhyme. The premiere will be a one-hour special on Tokyo MX, followed by Bs Fuji and Mbs on April 1 and April 2, respectively. The series will then move to a regular timeslot starting on April 7 and April 8 on Tokyo Mx and Mbs and Bs Fuji, running for two consecutive seasons.

The anime was originally set to debut in July 2024 but was delayed due to production issues. Taku Yashiro will voice the lead character Jinta, while Reina Ueda will play Suzune and Saori Hayami will play Shirayuki. The anime will be directed by Kazuya Aiura at Yokohama Animation Lab, with scripts by Deko Akao, character designs by Taro Ikegami, and music by Ryuuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa, and Kuniyuki Takahashi from MONACA. The anime will air for two consecutive seasons, which is a quarter of a year.
