Top 10 Romance Slice of Life Anime You Should Watch in 2025 – If your life’s bad in 2025, then it’s time to watch a slice of life of a guy who gets a girl—and in some cases, the most popular girl.
Some of these are upcoming, so make sure to add them to your watch list. So here are 10 romance slice of life anime you should watch in 2025. Let’s go!
10. Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!

This is about Kazuhiro Kitase, who can dream and go to alternate realities. In these worlds, he partners up with an elf, Mariabelle, but each of their journeys ends when he wakes up.
But one day, when he wakes up, he finds Mariabelle sleeping right beside him. The pacing is slow and nice, and most of the episodes are dedicated to the elf exploring Japan. But if you want a little bit of fantasy, we got our main guy fighting a wizard.
9. Catch Me at the Ballpark!

Sometimes the best way to get a girl is to ask her for a beer. This is what happens when Murata, a guy who’s so tired of his work, decides the best way to take a break is to watch a baseball game.
This is where he meets a gal called Ruriko, who sells him a beer—then sticks around him for some reason. And no, gals don’t usually come with baseball matches, but this one sticks around. The first episode’s already released and it’s looking pretty promising.
I think this is pretty much the definition of slice of life. Our main character gets thrown into a unique situation, meets some interesting characters, and then we probably get some tension along the way. I don’t know how you can feed tension into baseball, gals, and beers, so I’m curious where this is heading.
8. I Have a Crush at Work

This is one of those anime where the title pretty much tells you everything. But here’s the twist—this time, both the guy and the girl actually like each other, and they’re trying to keep their sweet little romance a secret.
That’s right—Yui Mitsuya and Masugu Tateishi both have crushes on each other, but they don’t want anyone at work to know. The big question is: can they really keep it hidden? This is something you should definitely add to your watch list if you’re into cute office love stories.
It’s nice that the couple already likes each other, so we don’t have to sit through all the will-they-won’t-they drama again. I think that’s what is so original about it. Instead of getting-together tension, we’ve got the secret romantic tension in the workplace.
7. Summer Pockets

This is about a guy called Hairi Takahara, who visits an old village and encounters four girls: Shiroha Naruse, who forgot her summer vacation; Ao Sorakado, who is pursuing the legends of the island; Kamome Kushima, a high-class girl looking for a pirate ship; and Tsumugi Wenders, a young girl trying to find herself.
All of these four people are connected to the mysteries of the island and all have the potential to be Takahara’s girlfriend. If you paid attention, you can easily figure out one thing: this is based on a visual novel.
You know what visual novels are popular for—multiple girls, multiple endings, and some seriously messed up stuff if you accidentally pick the bad route. Unless you’re watching School Days, you don’t have to worry about Summer Pockets picking up the bad route. But you should be worried about which girl is going to win.
6. My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me

And here we go—this isn’t released yet, it’s not going to get released this season, but it’s coming next season. Here we have Akiteru Ooboshi, who loves developing games. For this, he decides to ask for help from his uncle. But this uncle throws one condition—be my daughter’s boyfriend.
No, wait, it’s getting complicated. Next, we have Akiteru’s best friend’s sister, who suddenly doesn’t like this idea. When you have five girls and one guy in the cast, you know where this is heading. But this has a surprisingly different opening.
I mean, we went from fake dating uncle’s daughter into a love triangle between the daughter and the best friend’s sister. So I feel like this is going to be the Domestic Girlfriend of the year. It’s either going to take Twitter by storm and create some controversy, or it’s going to be an outstanding romance anime.
5. Kowloon Generic Romance

Who does a lovesome mystery with her slice of life show? This is about Reiko and Hajime, two realtors in the city of Kowloon.
They’re like best friends forever, until Hajime makes a move—and that gives Reiko so much PTSD, she starts remembering memories from her past which she never remembered before. Ever since then, she tries to find more information about her past.
Amnesia has pretty much become the greatest plot device of all time—you’ve got games, movies, and finally some anime. But I think what makes this stand out is how the city also has its own secrets. If you love romance and mystery, give this one a go.
4. Witch Watch

Witch Watch is about a guy who’s an ogre, forced to look after a clumsy witch who just got out of the witch academy. The girl, Nico, has a crush on her ogre boy, which is the main reason she picked him up as a familiar. But soon our ogre guy realizes this clumsy witch has got other problems.
Even though there are a lot of clumsy and fantasy elements here, at its core, this is still a slice of life romance anime about two people living together.
What makes this so special is how one person is way too forward and clumsy, while the other guy just wants to mind his own business. Comedy was one of the main driving factors of this anime, and I hope the anime does it well too.
3. Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 2

Who thought this anime would get a second season? This anime is actually about the quiet, mysterious girl trope. This show’s about how Matsuboshi Raidou and Reina Aharen are getting closer.
First, Raidou figures Aharen’s just a shy girl at school who keeps to herself. But then he drops an eraser by her. So yeah, the big lesson here is that erasers might just lead you to love. No kidding though, this show nails the cute-girls-acting-strange thing perfectly.
Aharen’s look and the way the anime is made feel super sweet, and the laughs just pop up when Aharen has to do stuff she’s awkward about, or when she pulls off some oddball moves that regular people wouldn’t. Season 2 is coming out this season, so get ready for some Aharen’s bizarre adventures.
2. Call of the Night Season 2

Yes, our favorite vampire romance anime is getting a second season this year. Call of the Night follows a dude who can’t sleep and roams the streets at night until a strange girl brings him to her place. She puts him on a futon and drinks his blood.
The show makes it sound way cooler than my creepy description. Anyway, the guy falls in love with the vampire, and it turns out to be a way better story than Twilight. Call of the Night isn’t your typical vampire romance, which is why tons of people like it.
No vampires chasing you or werewolves attacking—just a laid-back, chill vibe that makes you want to grab a soda and watch it all night long. Season two is where the tensions go high, and this goes from laid-back romance to suspenseful romance. So let’s see how they handle this tone shift.
1. My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

And we’re finishing off with the anime with the best girl. The manga recently ended, and there’s nothing better than to relive those memories with a second season. The tale tracks Gojou, a guy obsessed with crafting doll outfits.
Guess what? The coolest girl in school is nuts about cosplay too. They team up for awesome cosplay adventures and some sweet fan service. My Dress-Up Darling isn’t like other mushy love stories, since it’s not all about the lovey-dovey stuff. Sure, the romance drives the plot, but the show also digs into cosplay and anime con scenes.
At heart, it’s about chasing what you love—and how that chase might land you with the most popular girl in school. If you’re a fan of season 1, then you’re going to love season 2 as well. So obviously, this gets the best slice of life award.
