What to see at The Modernista Sant Pau Complex?

History

The Modernista Sant Pau Complex was built between 1905 and 1930. The architect in charge was the famous Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

In 1997, it was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its artistic and artistic value and also for being a driver for health innovation at the time.

Today the site is also a research location for international organizations such as the European Forest Institute, the Global University Network for Innovation or the United Nations University Institute on Globalization, Culture, and Mobility.

What to see?

A visit to the Sant Pau Modernist complex is a unique experience. We recommend you take a walk first through the outdoor gardens surrounding the Sant Salvador Pavilion. If you decide to go inside the Pavilion you will find historical pieces of European medicine. Along the way, you’ll see beautiful domes, stained-glass windows, and Modernist façades. Don’t miss the tunnels that connect all the buildings until you reach the Sant Rafael Pavilion to see its magnificent interior design.
