Apple now selling new USB-C to 3.5 mm audio cable

Apple has released a new USB-C to 3.5 mm audio cable, which can be used with both 3.5 mm audio-out and audio-in ports, allowing you to connect your AirPods Max or Beats Studio Pro headphones to 3.5 mm audio sources, or to connect your iPhone or iPad to speakers with 3.5 mm audio ports.

The new cable, priced at $39.00, enables ultra-low latency on par with the device’s built-in speakers for an optimal experience when gaming or creating content. Apple says the new cable can connect your AirPods Max or Beats Studio Pro headphones to the audio-out port on an airplane or on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or other device, or connect your iOS or iPadOS device to the audio-in port on your car stereo or other speaker system.

Apple announced the new cable on Monday, when it revealed that with the release of iOS 18.4 next month, it will add support lossless and ultra-low latency audio to AirPods Max. Apple used to sell a similar Lightning to 3.5mm audio cable, but it has now been discontinued.
