Cheaper Apple Vision Air AR/VR Headset Could Launch Before Year’s End, Report Claims

Those hoping to pick up a cheaper version of the Apple Vision Pro might be in luck, after a new report suggested that the Apple Vision Air could launch as soon as the end of this year.

That’s according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, who believes that the cheaper, lighter headset might launch before 2025 comes to a close.

Gurman was writing in his weekly Power On newsletter when he suggested that Apple will likely ship in the first half of 2026 if it misses the window for the end of 2025.

I reported earlier this month that Apple is full steam ahead on two new successors to the Vision Pro: a lighter version at a cheaper price point and a Mac-tethered model aimed at applications that need maximum responsiveness. All signs point to the lighter model arriving between the end of this year and the first half of 2026. Despite the first version selling poorly, the company isn’t abandoning ship here. The main uncertainty is whether the lighter version will be considered a replacement for the Vision Pro or a cheaper alternative.

Apple’s plans for a cheaper version of the Apple Vision Pro have been a matter of discussion for some time now, but the idea of a launch within months is something that has come out of left field.

It’s important to note that Gurman has a strong track record with these kinds of predictions. However, it’s also clear that Apple could change its plans at any moment so it remains to be seen just when the Apple Vision Air will break cover.
