Earlier this month at the Calgary Stampede, Freedom Mobile offered some exclusive wireless promos at the event, and now we’re seeing them pop up again elsewhere in Alberta.
At KDays in Edmonton, Freedom Mobile’s kiosk is offering up a $39/month promo plan with 80GB of data, for use in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. The plan also includes 15GB of Roam Beyond roaming at global destinations, plus unlimited talk and text, as spotted by RFD.
KDays is Edmonton’s biggest summer festival, held every July with rides, concerts, food vendors, and cultural events. It’s a 10-day celebration that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and is organized by Explore Edmonton. This year it takes place from July 18 to July 27, again 10 days of fun at the Edmonton EXPO Center.
But this time around, there’s a difference in the Freedom Mobile promos. The K-Days plan promo is only good for 18 months, whereas the Calgary Stampede deal was good for 20 months. You also again will see the $45 activation fee waived (still far cheaper than $80 from Rogers).
For a plan that gives you talk, text and data across North America and 15GB of global roaming for $39/month? That’s far cheaper than offers from Rogers, Telus and Bell.
