Google has rolled out Gemini 2.0 Flash, a faster and more powerful version of its AI model, in the Gemini app for iOS and Android.
This update improves response times and boosts performance for everyday tasks like brainstorming, learning, and writing.
For Gemini Advanced users, the update keeps features like a 1 million token context window, allowing uploads of up to 1,500 pages, plus priority access to Deep Research and Gems—tools designed to provide deeper insights and personalized assistance.
In addition to the AI upgrade, Gemini’s image generation now runs on Imagen 3, which improves detail, texture, and accuracy when following user instructions. This means more realistic and refined images when creating art or designs.
The 2.0 Flash update is rolling out now on Gemini’s web and mobile apps. Previous versions—Gemini 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro—will still be available for a few more weeks for those who want to continue existing conversations.
