An iOS 26 code leak confirmed the existence of multiple unreleased iPhone models, including the iPhone 17e.
An unreleased build of iOS 26 has revealed details about more than a dozen Apple hardware projects currently in development.
Following a series of reports last week, which provided insight into unreleased products like the next-generation AirTag, iPad Air, and Apple Studio Display, we now have additional information about the source of the leak.
A prototype iPhone running an early build of iOS 26 was recently sold, and the operating system on the device has since been made publicly available. This allowed researchers to dig through the code in an effort to uncover more about the devices and projects Apple is currently working on.
As MacRumors points out, the leaked filesystem dump contains the device identifiers for multiple unreleased products, including the same Mac identifiers revealed by AppleInsider in October 2025.
Monday’s leak serves as additional confirmation for the timeline we outlined, which detailed every Mac release through late 2026. We should see the M5 MacBook Air debut in early 2026, followed shortly by the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, along with a new budget-oriented MacBook.
After that, we expect to see an updated Mac mini, powered by the M5 and M5 Pro chips, along with two new Mac Studio configurations. Late 2026 will mark the debut of the redesigned M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pros, while the base M6 model will retain the current MacBook Pro design.
The iOS 26 code leak revealed more than just unreleased Macs, however. There’s also the AirTag 2, known as B589, and the second-generation Apple Studio display, referred to internally as J427 and J527.
The long-rumored Apple Home Hub is also referenced in the code, with its identifiers being J491 for the mounted variant and J490 for the version featuring a base.
Two new iPad models are in the list as well, that being the iPad 12, known as J581 and J582, as well as the 11-inch and 13-inch variants of the M4 iPad Air. The next-generation iPad Air is identified by the model numbers J707, J708, J737, and J738.
In terms of unreleased iPhones, the early iOS 26 code contains mentions of the iPhone 17e, with the identifier V159. The supposedly delayed iPhone Air 2 is also referenced, labeled V62, as are the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro Max, known as V63 and V64, respectively.
The oft-rumored iPhone Fold is listed as well, matching a previous leak that referred to the device as V68.
Two new Apple Watch models were discovered in the iOS 26 filesystem leak — the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and the Apple Watch Series 11. The former is known under the identifier N240, while the latter is known as N237 and N238.
Regarding successors to the Apple Vision Pro, the software indicates that a second-generation headset is in development, with the identifier N109. There also seems to be a lightweight model in development, dubbed N100.
Apple’s planned AR glasses, which were allegedly scrapped, are also referenced in the early iOS 26 code as N421, as are the Mac-connected smart glasses known as N107. Apple’s rendition of smart glasses, a potential competitor to the Meta Ray-Bans, is listed under the product identifier N50, though they are reportedly now known as N401.
Finally, the software lists several unknown products — J190, J226, J349, N110, N209, and N216. What we do know is that the identifiers beginning with the letter J are not new Macs, as they are not referenced in upcoming macOS releases. They could be anything from iPads and displays to robotics and projects similar to the Home Hub.
Based on Apple’s existing naming conventions, it’s safe to assume that the N110, N209, and N209 are wearable products, potentially versions of the Apple Vision Pro or Apple Watch.
