iPhone 17 Entire Lineup’s Design Might Have Just Leaked Showing A New Camera Design

If you’re waiting to get your hands on a new iPhone 17 when the lineup launches later this year, you should probably expect to get a new design. The new design is set to bring with it a big change in the way the camera looks, too.

That’s according to a new report from online leaker Majin Bu who claims to have new imagery which appears to be CAD images for the upcoming iPhone 17, ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.

Bu has a history of hits and misses which suggests that while this leak could be accurate, there is always the chance that it isn’t as well. A sizeable chunk of salt should definitely be used here.

MacRumors also notes that other leakers have also suggested that these CAD images are accurate, something that could potentially add weight to the leak.

“The CAD renders are quite accurate,” said Fixed Focus Digital. “Let me add a bit more detail: The iPhone 17 Pro models will most likely use a combination of materials — specifically, a glass section for the logo area integrated into an overall metal chassis.” This appears to explain the red areas on the iPhone 17 Pro models in the image. Indeed, rumors do suggest Apple plans to go with a half glass, half aluminum build, which would increase durability. The glass would allow wireless charging to continue to be available, but a partial aluminum frame would be less prone to breakage.

It’s previously been suggested that there will be support for reverse wireless charging when the new iPhones arrive later this year, a feature that has so far been rumored for previous releases without any accuracy.

All eyes will be on future leaks and of course the final release to see whether these new, larger camera bumps will be present on the high-end iPhones this year.
