Today, we used it. Our 2021 Honda CR-V had the original factory battery in it, and after several hot (HOT!) summers and some pretty cold weather lately, the battery just gave up. But since we had the portable jump starter, we weren’t stuck. We got the car started easily, and were able to get it to a shop that had the right battery without any difficulty.
I’m not pushing this particular jump starter device. But I AM suggesting that it would be a good idea for most of us to have something like this on hand. The one I have has regular USB ports, an AC port (which is rated to power a 65W laptop power supply), a REALLY bright flashlight, and of course the ability to start your car. All of these features are useful in a variety of situations. And if you can jump start your own car, you are probably safer on a dark adn stormy night than if you have to get someone to help you out.
