National Apprenticeship Week success culminates with launch of 2025 Apprenticeships Awards

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Worcestershire County Council are pleased to announce the 2025 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards.

The announcement comes at the conclusion of National Apprenticeship Week, a successful week of promoting the value that apprenticeships can offer for individuals and employers.

The Worcestershire Apprenticeships team coordinated a plethora of content during the week with their social media channels full of activity. The team shared a variety of new video case studies, several interviews with apprentices of different levels, myth busting content and shared a collection of short clips showcasing the leading partners, training providers and employers in Worcestershire who support apprenticeships.

The Worcestershire Apprenticeships team also worked with the Worcestershire Growth Hub to deliver a series of business support events across the county to help local employers with their questions around apprenticeships.

2024 marked the 10 year anniversary of Worcestershire Apprenticeships and the 2024 awards broke the record for the number of entries and finalists, but the ambition is to continue this growth and success for 2025.

Entries for the 2025 awards are now officially open, with apprentices, employers, schools, and training providers in Worcestershire able to submit their entries or nominations through the convenient online nomination process. The deadline for submissions is 18th July 2025.

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Off the back of another fantastic National Apprenticeship Week here in Worcestershire, it is with great pleasure we can launch 2025 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards. We want to celebrate and recognise the amazing contributions and dedication of all those involved with apprenticeships here in the county. Whether you are an apprentice at any level, an employer of any size, a training provider or one of our schools, there is a category to celebrate you.

“I urge anyone interested to get involved and enter or nominate before the deadline, and I look forward to yet another brilliant Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards.”

Working with county employers, training providers, schools and education providers has increased the profile of apprenticeships across the county.

Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, added: “As a father, I’ve seen first-hand the benefits an apprenticeship can have on a young person – allowing them to earn while they learn and giving them valuable real-world work experience. National Apprenticeship Week was a great opportunity to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships across our county, and the people behind their success . It was great to see such strong local support throughout the week, and launching the 2025 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards is the perfect way to keep that momentum going.”
