CLEARWATER, FL (March. 7, 2025) – Clearwater Marine Aquarium is excited to announce the arrival of two juvenile kangaroo joeys—Irwin and Bindi—just in time for spring break this March and April. These adorable newcomers, brought to the Aquarium thanks to Amazing Animals, Inc., will delight visitors of all ages with their playful and unique personalities.
Irwin and Bindi are both juvenile kangaroos, known for their boundless energy and curiosity. Irwin, named in honor of the late wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, is a playful male joey, while Bindi, named after Irwin’s daughter, a spirited female joey, is eager to explore her new home. The joeys are 9 months old and in the early stages of their development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Irwin and Bindi to Clearwater Marine Aquarium,” said Joe Handy, CEO of CMA. “These kangaroos are an exciting addition to our animal family and provide a unique opportunity for guests to experience Australian wildlife up close,” said Handy. “We can’t wait for our guests to meet them during spring break.”
Visitors can expect educational presentations showcasing the kangaroos’ natural behaviors, feeding routines, fun facts about their native Australian habitat, and about vital kangaroo conservation efforts to help protect these incredible marsupials.

CMA will also present a Pouch Pals Baby Roo Encounter where guests can experience the unique opportunity to have a kangaroo snuggle into their lap, with the chance to touch, interact and bond with the baby roo while it stays cozy in its pouch.
This is available to adults and children 5-12 years old for $49.95 for each person. Please note that children between ages 5-12 will need to have a paid participating adult with them for the program. A complimentary individual photo is included and additional photos are available for purchase.
In addition to Irwin and Bindi, CMA will also showcase a range of other captivating animals during this period. The special spring break experience includes the chance to see in their exhibits:
- Herman’s Tortoise – A resilient, slow-moving companion.
- Blue Tongue Skink – A fascinating reptile with striking blue coloration.
- Bearded Dragon – A friendly and fascinating lizard.
- Ball Python – A non-venomous snake known for its docile nature.
- Hedgehog – A cute, spiky creature that is sure to captivate all ages.
Clearwater Marine Aquarium continues to offer unique opportunities to engage with animals and learn about conservation efforts while providing a fun, educational outing for visitors of all ages. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Irwin and Bindi, along with other amazing creatures, at CMA this spring.
